Jonathan Ross could cause 20% rise in biscuit injury claims BBAB
The British Biscuit Advisory Board were outraged when the supposed funny man and controversial presenter openly trivialised the dangers of biscuits to an audience of millions on his BBC chatshow Friday Night with Jonathan Ross (aired 11/09/09).
Only months after his Manuel gaff on radio 2, the presenter could be in trouble again following claims he might be responsible for hundreds more injuries this year.
In this clip he is seen making fun of a very serious matter – that of biscuit safety – and encourages a live studio audience to laugh and titter at what is a very real danger. Then, to further belittle the cause, a man-sized gingerbread man with a baseball bat was seen being dunked into a huge cup of tea – apparently in an attempt to be funny.
A spokesman from the BBAB commented, “Of course we are shocked. How a man with such influence can be allowed to act in such a callous way is beyond belief. Our projections show that negligent broadcasting such as this could increase biscuit injuries in the UK by around 20% - that’s well over 100 extra people each year.”
Those interested in preventing such injuries are calling for the public to boycott the floppy-haired scoundrel’s shows – and when the biscuit injury figures rise, Ross and the BBC will have crumbs on their hands.
