NEW REPORT HIGHLIGHTS MOST DANGEROUS BISCUIT

Rocky logoRocky logoBoffins have come up with a formula to assess the risks associated with eating biscuits – after new findings revealed that millions of Brits have suffered accidents or injuries while eating their favourite biccie.

The Biscuit Injury Threat Evaluation tool - or B.I.T.E. - was developed after research on behalf of Rocky chocolate biscuit bar discovered that almost 25 million Brits have suffered a biscuit-related mishap - from choking and scalding themselves while dunking in tea, to dropping the biscuit tin on their foot. And the statistics are backed up by the latest Home Accident Surveillance System report, which counted over 500 biscuit injuries treated annually in A&E departments across the country.

Dr David Lewis, Director of Research at Mindlab International, whose team conducted the study, explains, “The formula was calculated by testing the physical properties of 15 popular types of biscuits, along with aspects of their consumption such as ‘dunkability’, friability and crumb dispersal. Then one of our mathematicians correlated these findings with research data and responses from a nationwide survey of over 1,000 adults.”
